How does insurance work?
Insurance is designed to join together policyholders so in the event someone suffers a loss, no policyholder will bear the burden alone.
Insurance is an investment in the sense that it will help you to pay the bills that are commonly associated with the tragedies they were created for. Unlike life insurance where you can borrow against the equity built in the policy, auto, homeowners and renters insurance build no equity and can not be borrowed against.
What is a Deductible?
A deductible is the amount of money that the policyholder is required to pay in the event that they suffer a loss.
